Albert O. Thiele

Albert O. Thiele, age 86, devoted husband of Erika Thiele for 56 years, loving father of Harold Thiele (Susan) and Heidi Thiele. Proud grandfather of Nicholas Thiele (Angela) and Andrew Thiele and great grandfather of Kristen. Born in Dresden, Germany and emigrated to the United States in 1952, becoming a naturalized citizen in 1958. Trained as a shipbuilder in Germany, he worked as a welder and machine assembler after coming to the United States, retiring from Teledyne Precision in 1991. Albert had a lifelong passion for soccer as a professional player, coach, and seventeen years as a soccer referee. Albert was a longtime resident of the Cincinnati area, member of the Germania Society, volunteer with the Greater Cincinnati American Field Service for 25 years involved with foreign exchange student programs, volunteer member of the Montgomery Beautification & Tree Commission, volunteer with the Sycamore Senior Center Meals on Wheels program, and active member of the Blue Ash YMCA. A memorial service will be held 7:00 pm, Thursday, April 26, 2012 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 7701 Kenwood Road, 45236. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorials be directed to Sycamore Senior Center, 4455 Carver Woods Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio 45242, or Hospice of Cincinnati, P.O.
