Mom (Helen Jackson) was born June 28, 1929, in Campbellsville, Kentucky. She had 4 older sisters. At the age of 5 she was being raised by her maternal grandparents. They lived on a working farm. She grew up working in the fields and taking care of animals. Mom never gave up her love of growing things, she always had a garden and flower beds everywhere. Growing up she attended a Methodist church, where she played the piano at Sunday morning and Wednesday night services. She would also sing in the choir. She told us about having a horse that her grandfather bought her and she talked about how much she loved being out riding the hills every chance she had. At age 17 she moved to Cincinnati, where she lived with one of her sisters. Here is where she met our Dad. They married on May 14, 1948. They lived in Cincinnati for a while. They built a house in 1950 six miles outside Milford, Ohio. Two years later they sold the house and bought the one next door. They lived there for 24 years when our Dad passed away. By herself she finished raising 3 children. She worked in a nursing home for 18 years. Mom was a loving, caring and hard working lady. She never lost her faith, she prayed a lot and sent the kids to church. Mom has left us now, but she is never far and she is in a beautiful place with our brother and the love of her life our Dad. Helen is survived by her children: Mary Bailey (Charles), Elisa Hamilton (Dennis), Helen Watson (Ken), Debra Jackson and Robert Jackson, 9 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Jackson and son Ernest Jackson. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, 6/21/2014, 12:00pm at Craver-Riggs Funeral Home & Crematory, 529 Main Street, Milford, Oh 45150. Friends and family are welcome from 10:00am until the time of the service.
