KYDE Albert �Al�, loving husband of 64 years to the late Thelma L. (nee Haas), beloved father of Rodger (Susan), Sherilyn (Jim) Gudmens, and Lorrie (Randy) Hurst, cherished grandfather of Jaimee, Mark, and Kara Gudmens and Kyle and Kendra Hayes, brother-in-law to Ralph (Joan) Haas, also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in Cincinnati on March 12, 1921, Al passed peacefully at home in the early morning of Monday, December 15, 2008 at the age of 87. He was a WWII Navy veteran where he proudly served in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. Following his military service, Al worked in the Sheet Metal trade for 40 years and later served as President, Business Manager, and Financial Secretary of this organization. Al was a lifelong member of the Masonic Order and was the secretary of the Color Guard for 34 years. He was very active in fund raising for the Shrine Children�s Hospital. Al was a driving force in the community especially for programs that helped children. In 1952, he initiated the Scouting program in Branch Hill and was the first Scout Master. He was a co-founder of the Branch Hill VFW and help start the boys� Knothole baseball programs. He was a member of the Branch Hill Church of Christ and served as Superintendent of Sunday School. Friends and family will be received on Saturday December 20th, 2008 from 11:00am to 1:00pm at the Craver-Riggs Funeral Home & Crematory, 529 Main Street, Milford. Following visitation, a celebration of Al�s life will be held in the Craver-Riggs chapel. Interment will be at Graceland Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to Shrine Hospital for Children, 3229 Burnet Avenue, Cincinnati, 45229.
