Amy M. Langhorst (nee Rich) 84, of Cincinnati, Oh, passed away on Thursday, September 24th, peacefully in her home in Goshen, Oh. Born on June 23, 1936, she was the daughter of the late John Rich and Helen (Raleigh) Rich.
Amy was a force of nature and a woman who knew how to set and accomplish a goal. A devoted companion to her husband Carl for over 65 years, she was also a business owner, a leading champion dog breeder, and an accomplished equestrian. Her legacy in the dog world lives on through the shelties she loved as well as the knowledge she shared with so many.
Amy was predeceased by her daughter Lori (Langhorst) Day. She is survived by her husband Carl A Langhorst and daughters; Jenny (Tim) Walker and Sandy L Swearingen; Granddaughters Jacquline (Chris) Hartman and Meghan Swearingen; and Great Grandchild Rowan Hartman; 4 sisters Judy Eigel, Sally Dikeman, Kathy (Tom) Wagner and Debby Leyland; 2 brothers Jay (Sondra) Rich and Joe Rich and a plethora of loving nieces, nephews and an extended family of animal lovers. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Cincinnati Zoo in Amy's honor.
