Andrea Marie Green, a cherished Cincinnati resident, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at the age of 82, surrounded by her beloved daughters. Born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1943, in Huntington, Indiana, Andrea was never one to fake a connection - if she liked you, you knew it. She had a knack for striking up conversations with anyone, and when something truly delighted her, her laughter was big, bold, and unforgettable. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, John and Norma Septer, and her brother, John Septer. A graduate of Huntington High School, class of 1961, Andrea treasured her memories and the lasting friendships that mattered most to her.
After high school, Andrea embarked on a new chapter in Dayton, Ohio, where she built a beautiful life, getting married and raising her two daughters among a community of lifelong friends. Known for her infectious laugh, Andrea had a passion for decorating, gardening, shopping, and turning her home into a haven of organization and charm. She often filled her home with music, dancing joyfully while tidying - a “master putterer” who brought order and warmth to every corner.
Two of Andrea’s greatest joys were fulfilling her dream of traveling to Europe with her closest friends (Penny and Carol); an adventure that left her heart full, and moving to Cincinnati to be close to her grandchildren. Though she sometimes downplayed the impact of her life, her daughters reminded her of the profound love, care, and protection she provided—a legacy that will live on through them and their families.
When Andrea was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer, she faced the journey with courage, grace, and a sense of humor. In her final months, she ensured her bucket list was complete and spent precious time with those she cherished most, leaving behind a testament of love and resilience for her family to hold dear.
Andrea is survived by her devoted family: daughters, Dayna (Tal) Richards and Leslie (Chris) Peterson; her adoring grandchildren Iain and Eric Peterson, and Scout and Romy Richards; her siblings Annette Hopkins of Ft. Wayne, IN, and Neal Septer of Overland Park, KS; as well as numerous nieces and nephews who will treasure her memory forever.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Andrea’s life on Saturday, April 26th, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Losantiville Country Club, 3097 Losantiville Ave, Cincinnati, OH 45213. In lieu of flowers, her daughters kindly request donations to Hospice of Cincinnati in Andrea’s name, honoring the compassionate care Andrea received.
