Barbara J. Berry, a beloved retired nurse who dedicated her life to caring for others, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, in Hamilton County, Ohio, at the age of 92. Born on February 15, 1933, in Ripley, Ohio, Barbara was a guiding light to all who knew her, embodying compassion and warmth throughout her life.
As a retired RN from Brown County, she touched the lives of countless patients and their families with her gentle demeanor and unwavering commitment to healthcare. Barbara’s nurturing spirit extended far beyond her profession; she was a devoted member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 2293 in Georgetown, Ohio, where she built lasting friendships and participated passionately in community activities.
Barbara was an avid quilter, pouring love into every stitch and creating beautiful pieces that will forever be cherished by her family. Her joy for life was also displayed through her love for traveling and her favorite moments spent dining out with family and friends, experiences that brought her immense happiness and laughter.
Her profound love for her family was evident to all. She is survived by her daughter, Edith (Bill) Bowman; her sons, David Berry and Daniel (Karla) Berry; and her cherished grandchildren: Sarah (John) Fitzharris, Joshua (Amanda) Bowman, Logan Berry, Landon Berry, and Nichole Wolfe. In addition, she leaves behind eight great grandchildren and one great great grandchild, each of whom brought light and joy to her life.
Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Earl Berry, and her parents, Richard and Dora List. She also fondly remembered her brother, Richard "Marty" List, who survives her.
In tribute to a life beautifully lived, family and friends are invited to celebrate Barbara's remarkable journey. Visitation will be held on January 2, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 12:00 PM, both at Megie Funeral Home in Mt. Orab, Ohio. Burial will follow at Confidence Cemetery
The legacy of Barbara J. Berry endures in the hearts of those she has loved. She will be eternally missed and fondly remembered for her kindness, warmth, and the undeniable impact she made on all who were fortunate enough to know her. Memorial donations may be directed to the charity of your choice.
