Bruce E. Schatzman, a beloved son, devoted husband, cherished father, and proud grandfather passed away suddenly on November 10, 2025, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Born on August 21, 1956, in Cincinnati, Bruce brought joy and warmth to all who knew him throughout his life.
As a dedicated baker at Frisch's Commissary, Bruce was known for his skill and passion for creating delicious treats, but those who loved him remember him not just for his work, but for his big heart and beautiful spirit. His personality was one of kindness and creativity, coupled with a strength that would not put up with anyone's junk.
A proud family man, Bruce delighted in spending time with his grandchildren, often expressing his love with the endearing phrase, "Gotta take care of my girls." His legacy lives on through his loving mother, Connie Schatzman, his wife, Carla (née Hundemer) Schatzman, and his daughter, Heather N. Wolffram. Bruce also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Kimberlee Schatzman-Whittington and Elijah Bruce Wolffram, who were the apples of his eye.
In addition to his immediate family, Bruce is survived by his sisters, Deborah Schatzman and Cheryl (Jay) Singleton. He is also lovingly remembered by his brothers-in-law Frank (Peggy) Hundemer and Scott (Lisa) Hundemer, along with sisters-in-law Deena (Jason) Potter and Judy Schatzman. Bruce’s warmth extended to his many nieces and nephews: Trisha (Scott) Haemmerle, Sarah (Shane) Newman, Tracy Simmons, Lorrie, Jenna, Angie, and Lauren, as well as Frank (Amy) Hundemer, Ed (Sara) Hundemer, Ashlee (Jo Rogers) Hundemer, Brian (Samantha) Hundemer, Tyler Hundemer, Alex and Adam Hundemer, Alaina Hundemer, Gabriel and Gaven Potter, Mark (Samantha) Singleton, Erick Singleton, and Stephanie Singleton. He will also be missed by his fur baby, Marissa.
Bruce's passions included holiday celebrations, particularly Christmas, where he joyfully decorated and created an atmosphere of warmth and family bonding. He had a special knack for making beautiful campfires during family camping trips, illustrating his love for the outdoors. An avid woodworker, Bruce spent hours refurbishing furniture, showcasing his many talents and creative spirit.
Bruce is predeceased by his father, Roger A. Schatzman, and brothers Gary and Keith Schatzman, as well as brother-in-law and sister-in-law Brian (Tammy) Hundemer and father-in-law and mother-in-law Frank (Joan) Hundemer. He is also reunited in spirit with his beloved fur babies, Sunny, Sugar, and Lucky.
The memories of Bruce will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends, a reminder of the love he shared and the light he brought into their lives. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will continue to shine brightly in those who loved him.
To honor Bruce’s memory, a Memorial Gathering will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a Memorial Service at 4:00 PM at Megie Funeral Home & Crematory - Craver Chapel located at 529 Main Street, Milford, OH 45150.
Pastor Derek Wooten will be officiating.
