Carl Gene Ballein

Carl Gene Ballein of Mt. Orab, Ohio, passed away on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at the age of 87. He was born to the late Howard and Goldie Ballein on November 25, 1937.

Carl is survived by his wife of 65 years, Rosalie Ballein; his children: Daniel Lynn (Ann Marie) Ballein of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Carla S. (Sean Crawford) Royalty of Georgetown, Ohio and Tim S. Ballein of Mt. Orab, Ohio; his grandchildren: Jenifer (Jamie) Metcalfe of Cincinnati, Ohio, Lindsey (Richard) Grenner of Felicity, Ohio, Megan (Adam ) Ruhl of Cincinnati, Ohio, Devin Royalty of Ripley, Ohio, Britny (Justin) McKibben of Cincinnati, Ohio and Scott Ballein of Bethel, Ohio; his great-grandchildren: Kylie, Leah, Camden, Braxton, Isaac, Lucas and Lincoln; his sisters: Fern Van Vuren of Midland, Ohio and Linda Ross of Midland, Ohio.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by two brothers: James Ballein and Clyde Ballein, and one sister, Ruth Waits.

Carl was a member of Buford Church of Christ. He was a former firefighter with Mt. Orab Fire Dept. and the owner/operator of Ballein Lumber. He loved gardening and building.

Funeral service 7 PM Monday, February 3, 2025, at Mt. Orab Church of Christ, 400 Smith Avenue, Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154, where family and friends will be received from 5 PM until the time of service. Graveside service 11 AM Tuesday, February 4, 2025, at Mt. Orab Cemetery, Mt. Orab, Ohio. Joe Strunk officiating.
