Carl August Langhorst 87, of Cincinnati, OH, passed away on Friday, July 30th, peacefully in his sleep. Born on July 24, 1934, he was the treasured son of the late Carl Langhorst and Anna E. (Sanders) Langhorst of Bremen Germany. Carl often reflected on his wonderful life, he counted among his many blessings, his strong German heritage, the love of his life Amy, his children and their children, his distinguished career of 30+ years with Cincinnati Bell "thank you Mother Bell" and his prize-winning shelties. Carl and Amy traveled the country and made Starhaven a nationally and internationally known name, with over 100 AKC champions to their credit. He was loved and admired by all who knew him.
Carl was predeceased by Amy his devoted wife of over 65 years and his daughter Lori Lee (Langhorst) Day. Carl is survived by his daughters, Jenny (Tim) Walker and Sandy L Swearingen; Granddaughters, Jacquline (Chris) Hartman and Meghan Swearingen and Great Grandchild Rowan Hartman; an extended family of 4 sisters Judy Eigel, Sally Dikeman, Kathy (Tom) Wagner and Debby Leyland; 2 brothers Jay (Sondra) Rich and Joe Rich and many loving nieces, nephews and a family of animal lovers.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the Cincinnati Zoo in Carl's honor.
A celebration of life will be held in both Carl and Amy's honor on August 14thfrom 1pm to 3pm at the Queen City Dog Training Club, 12018 Tramway Dr., Cincinnati, OH 45241. We hope that you can come and share your favorite stories of these 2 wonderful people.
