Carol Ann Feld (Wind) passed away peacefully on August 24, 2025, at the age of 84. She had been quietly battling Alzheimer’s for several years. She was passionately devoted to her family, loved being a mom and grandmother. She had an infectious laugh and playful sense of humor.
She was born and raised in Clifton, Ohio, September 10, 1941, to Marie and Reinhardt Wind. She attended Hughes High School and later received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Cincinnati. She was a lifelong UC Bearcat fan and enjoyed watching UC basketball and sharing stories about watching them win national championships. In 1963, she started teaching and spent her 30-year career teaching at Central Fairmount Elementary School.
Carol loved teaching and every child in her classrooms. She could often be found on a Sunday afternoon, sitting on the couch, diligently working on lesson plans. In 1972, Carol met the love of her life, James Feld, and they married on May 4, 1973. They welcomed two daughters, Christina Suto and Jennifer Smethurst. They later built a house and moved to Delhi, Ohio in 1978 where they lived for more than 45 years.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James, her children Christy (Paul) and Jennifer (Robert) and her five grandchildren, Mariska, Tamas, Carolanne, Elizabeth and Anna Lou. She was preceded in death by her beloved
and cherished mother, Marie Sommer Wind.
