Carol Ann Mahlman

Carol Mahlman (nee Rasch) died peacefully in her home, surrounded by friends and family, on Monday, September 8, 2008, after a long battle with cancer. Carol held many jobs in her life, but her favorite one was "MOM". She leaves behind her sons Danny (Carla), Steve (Pat), and Dave (Pam) Mahlman, her daughter Diane Mahlman (Terry Payne), and her beveloved furry daughter, Nikki. She will be missed by her grandchildren Jeremy, Amber, Abigail, Samantha, Jackie, Steve, Shaun, Andrea, and Scott Mahlman, and Bart Weinheimer, plus her great-grandchildren Gracie, Stevie, and Hayleigh Mahlman. She is also survived by her sister, Linda (Jeff) Swartout, her nieces Becky (Shaun) Swartout-Litchholt and Sara Swartout, and her sister-in-law Ginger Rasch. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Elizabeth Rasch, and her brother, Jerry Rasch. They are together in heaven now, In the "land where the animals dance and play!" She also leaves behind many dear family members, friends and acquaintances. A private memorial service for the immediate family was held on September 21, 2008. Donations may be made to the Carol Mahlman Fund at the Cincinnati Zoo and will be earmarked for Amphibian Programs. We hope you will share your memories and thoughts with us below.
