Charles Edward Boersig, Jr.

Charles Edward Boersig, Jr. of Milford, Ohio passed away peacefully at the Pinebrook Retirement Community on April 5, 2025, at the age of 93 after being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease two years ago. He was born on July 1, 1931, in St. Louis, MO to the late Charles and Esther (nee Simmons) Boersig. He met his beloved wife, Barbara, at church, got married and moved to El Paso, Texas and later to Wiesbaden, Germany where Charles served in the Army as a First Lieutenant before returning to St. Louis and eventually settling in Cincinnati.

Charles is survived by his cherished wife of 70+ years, Barbara, his son David Boersig (Kim Pettit) of Moab, UT, his daughter Christy Kauffmann (Joe) of Cincinnati, OH, his daughter Debby Shepherd (Tim) of Liberty Township, OH, as well as three grandchildren: Elizabeth Plachecki (Matt), Gregory Kauffmann (Hayley) and Adam Shepherd (Alex) and seven great grandchildren: Madeleine, Gwen and Wesley Plachecki; Dane and Romy Kauffmann and Hudson and Elli Kait Shepherd.

Charles received his BA and MBA from Washington University in St. Louis, MO where he was the quarterback of the football team. He spent much of his career as the Director of Marketing at the US Shoe Company. Charles and his wife enjoyed their retirement years traveling around the world as well as spending time with family and friends. He was active in Trinity United Methodist Church, the Germania Society and tennis, golf and lunch groups.

Charles lived a life filled with great love for God, family, friends and country.

The family would like to thank his devoted caregiver, Robin, for the love and compassion she showed Charles over the past two years as well as the dedicated and caring staff at Pinebrook.

A memorial service for Charles will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 10:00 am at Trinity United Methodist Church, 5767 Wolfpen Pleasant Hill Rd., Milford, OH 45150.
