Charles L. Holt of Mt. Orab, Ohio passed away at home with his loving wife by his side on Sunday, March 05, 2023, at the age of 92. He was born September 30, 1930, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Charles L. and Margaret D. (nee Campbell) Holt.
Charlie is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Shirley Mae Holt; his loving children: David (Steve Carrado) Holt of Raliegh, North Carolina, Teresa (Mark) Essex of Blanchester, Ohio, and Lori (Shawn Shanks) West of Mt. Orab, Ohio. He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren: Robby (Jill) West, Amber (Terence) Williams, Kristin (Chad) Jasper, Fawn (Glen Murrell) Hornsby, Ryan Hornsby, Cody (Marissa Combs) West, Megan West, Kirsten Essex, Kevin (Ellen) Essex, Daniel (Debbie) Essex, and Adam (Nicole) Essex, along with his cherished great-grandchildren: Chayce Watson, Shae Williams, Austin Williams, Kaileigh Conover, Kingston Conover, Elin West, Annelise West, Maverick West, Ella West, Lucy Hornsby-Murrell, Sean Essex, Elizabeth Essex, and Dakota Essex; and his only great-great-grandson, Roman Williams.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his sons: Leroy Charles and Rob West his daughter-in-law, Stephanie West; and siblings: Anna Mae (Pete) Bitzer, William Lester Holt, and Kendal Lee Holt.
Charlie was a long-time member of the Mt. Orab Lion’s Club and the local Masonic Lodge. He served in the United States Navy and was a member of the Mt. Orab Church of Christ. Charlie was a carpenter and handyman. He loved Sunday drives, taking walks when he shouldn’t, spending time at the river and camping. Charlie was an avid Cincinnati Reds fan.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, March 09, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Mt. Orab Church of Christ located at 400 Smith Avenue, Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154 with Pastor Joe Strunk officiating. Visitation will begin at 12:00 pm and run until the time of service. Masonic and Lions Club ceremonies will be bestowed at the Church and Military Honors at Mt. Orab Cemetery following the service.
