Dan M. Painter

Dan Melvin Painter of Mt. Orab, Ohio passed away at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, October 20, 2022, at the age of 88. He was born to the late Harold and Georgia (nee Carpenter) Painter in Milburn, West Virginia on January 6, 1934.

Dan is survived by his loving children Karen Painter Kennedy of Ypsilanti, Michigan, and Hubert "Shaun" (Jennifer) Painter Jr. of Hemphill, Texas; Daughter in Law Jill Painter of Lansing, Michigan; his adoring grandchildren Deanna (Darrell) Buckley of Palacios, Texas, Patra (David) Painter-Jaramillo of Bay City, Texas, Shane Painter of Homer, Louisiana, Sabrina (Neil) Armstrong of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Heather Cobb of Mt. Orab, Ohio, Charity (Joey) Perez of Palacios, Texas, Ashley Painter of Bullhead City, Arizona, and Amber (Joe) Fields of Lansing, Michigan; his 25 cherished great grandchildren; 17 dear great great grandchildren; his sister Jean Painter Tyree of Barberton, Ohio; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, family, and friends.

In addition to his parents Dan was preceded in death by his beloved wife Erma, sons Danny Painter, and Hubert Painter Sr. his siblings Betty Burford, Everett Painter, and Robert "Bob" Painter, and son in law Frank Neckel.

Dan served in the Army National Guard in West Virginia, he worked at Ford Motor Company for 38 years. Dan loved to travel and read about history and God. At the age of 21 he gave his life to God and was a faithful servant. He spent his life serving the Lord through Church Ministry. He served as a Deacon, Sunday School Teacher, Song Leader, Youth Minister, and was responsible for starting Bus Ministries while serving in Michigan. During his lifetime, he won many souls to the Lord and was a devoted Prayer Warrior.

Dan was born in West Virginia where he grew up moved to Ypsilanti, Michigan where he lived for 57 years, and moved to Mt. Orab, Ohio in 2007 where he became a member of the Mt. Orab Bible Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Mt. Orab Bible Baptist Church located at 990 West Main St., Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154. Visitation will be on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at the church from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Rev. Ted House officiating. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Orab Cemetery.
