Daniel William Young

Daniel William Young, born on February 14, 1964, left this world on February 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories. His warm spirit and generous heart touched the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him.

Daniel was a devoted husband to his beloved wife, Sherry Young, with whom he shared 32 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and unwavering support for one another. As a father, Daniel exemplified what it meant to be a family man, nurturing and guiding his four children: Johnathan (Kristin Wooten) Young, Bridget Burge, Samantha Wines, and James (Chelsey) Hupp. His role as a father extended even further as he embraced three bonus children: Travois Garrison, Nicholas (Moria) Garrison, and Jennifer Wright-Moore.

Daniel was also a proud grandfather to many, his heart swelling with joy as he welcomed his grandchildren - Beth, Tyler, Matthew (Shayla), Logan, Zoey, Destiny, Raevyn, Mason, Lexie, Chloe, Bella, and Vincent. The recent arrival of three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Braxton, and Connor (who is due in April), only deepened the love that surrounded him.

The bond of brotherhood was cherished by Daniel, who is survived by his brothers Douglas Young and Steven Young, and his bonus brother Leslie Oberschlake. He was preceded in death by his beloved sister, Vernda Garrison. The close-knit family was a source of strength and happiness for him throughout his life.

Daniel held dear friendships that enriched his life; loving friends David and Ann Hall, and Butch and Kim Lodwick often brought laughter and warmth to his days. He was a proud uncle, a role he embraced with joy, showering his numerous nieces and nephews with love and guidance. His fur babies, Sky and Rocky, were not just pets but a source of companionship and happiness, reflecting his deep affection for animals.

A proud graduate of Western Brown High School and Nashville Diesel College, Daniel lived life to the fullest. He found joy in building and racing cars at Edgewater, relished the thrill of riding his Kawasaki motorcycle, and delighted in clay target shooting. Beyond these passions, he also expressed his creativity through music as a member of the band, the Hype Addicts. He was an adept welder and a dedicated fisherman, embodying the spirit of adventure and artistry.

Daniel’s life will be celebrated during visitation at Megie Funeral Home in Mount Orab on February 20, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by a funeral service that will honor his incredible life and the love he shared.

As we reflect upon Daniel’s life, we remember a man who would do anything for anyone—a true friend, a loving family member, and an unparalleled source of kindness. His joyful spirit will live on in the hearts of all those who knew and loved him, reminding us of the importance of family, friendship, and unconditional love.
