Daryl Lee Zornes

Daryl Lee Zornes of Newtown, Ohio, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, June 19, 2024, at the age of 72. He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Clarence and Betty Zornes.

Daryl was best friend and beloved husband of 53 years to Wilma M. (née Feck) Zornes; cherished dad of Carla Zornes, Caryl Zornes, and Jennifer (James) Taylor; proud grandpa of Haylee Clark, Katie McCormick, Adam Taylor, Maddie Clark, Conner Clark, Jeremiah Taylor, and his great-grandson, Robert Winglewish; loving uncle of David Creech & Daniel (Kelly) Creech; and will also be missed by his fur babies: Jackson, Kobe, Ellie Mae, and Sadie.

Daryl was a Fireman at the Madison Place Fire Department in Cincinnati. He retired as Chief of Police from the Newtown, Ohio Police Department, and after retirement served on the council there. Daryl also worked as an investigator at the Hamilton County Coroner and retired after 11 years of service, and was secretary of the Fraternal Order of Police, Ohio Valley Lodge 112.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, June 28, 2024, from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Megie Funeral Home and Crematory, 529 Main St., Milford, Ohio 45150, with Masonic Service at 7:00 PM.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at 10:00 AM.

Pastor Michael Cornelius will be officiating.

Full Police Burial with Honors will take place immediately following the service at Greenlawn Cemetery in Milford.

If desired, family suggests memorial contributions in Daryl’s honor be directed to the Shriner’s Hospital.
