We are all deeply saddened by the sudden loss of David R. Woeste on July 29, 2018 at age 67. Dave's life was characterized by strong, traditional values and principled leadership. He stood as the Provider and Protector of a large family. With hard work and perseverance he built several businesses - not in self-fulfillment, but in serving his family. He possessed strength of character and a dynamic personality, known fondly as "Big Dave" to many. Dave built a life with his wife Marcie on the farm where they raised their children and were enjoying their grandchildren. From his youth he loved and lived with animals - from raccoons, birds, and snakes, to dogs, chickens, horses, and cows. That love was a legacy he passed on to his family. His values and character, his wonder and curiosity, combined with his experience in life gave him knowledge and wisdom that he shared freely. He made himself available to everyone, but rarely asked for anything. He was the rock on which everyone leaned; and his example will continue to guide and inspire us. Dave cherished his time as a husband, father of 4, and grandfather of 12. His was a life too short, but a life well-lived. He is survived by his wife, Marcia (Miller) Woeste, after 50 years together. He was predeceased by his son David R. Woeste Jr., but survived by David's wife and children, Beth A. (Sweeting) Woeste, Lillian B. Woeste, David R. Woeste III, Anna K. Woeste, and Jonathan R. Woeste. He is survived by his son Michael A. Woeste and Michael's wife and children, Suzanna R. (Bachman) Woeste, Russell W. Woeste, Isaac H. Woeste, and Violet V. Woeste. He is survived by his son Jeremy R. Woeste and Jeremy's wife and children, Skaseniio (Ransom) Woeste, Isabel K. Woeste, Elena I. Woeste, and Jacob T. Woeste. He is survived by his daughter Jennifer L. (Woeste) Crumbaker and Jennifer's husband and children, Daniel P. Crumbaker, Sarah E. Crumbaker, and John L. Crumbaker. He is also predeceased by his father, Ralph T. Woeste but survived by his mother, Marian A. (Lucas) Woeste and siblings, Terry R. (Woeste) Unger, Dennis C. Woeste, Jeanne M. (Woeste) Abt, Patty A. (Woeste) Umbach, Jeffrey A. Woeste, Joseph B. Woeste, Dale A. Woeste and Nancy K. (Woeste) Tomlinson. A visitation is to be held at 10:00 am, and a memorial service is to be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 11, 2018, both at Faith Church 5910 Price Rd. Milford, OH 45150.
