Donna Jean Wolfer

January 24, 1951 — November 16, 2024

Donna Jean Wolfer

Donna Jean Wolfer, 73, originally of Williamsburg, Ohio, passed away November 16, 2024, after a courageous two-year battle with metastatic breast cancer. Donna was born January 24, 1951, beloved daughter of the late Jim and Jean Wolfer. In addition to her parents, Donna was also proceeded in death by big brother, James Paul Wolfer (1964), brothers-in-law Mike Butchko (2002), Jean Charles Bouchy (2020) and great-nephew Michael Henry Butchko (2024).

Donna leaves behind those who loved her the most. Her brother, Michael (Terri) Wolfer and her four sisters, Rose (Mark) Butchko-Stoner, Joyce (Mike) Wilmers, Joan Bouchy, and Mary Sue (Troy) Gregory. Donna was a very special aunt to her nine nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Ed) Toth, Joe (Tracy) Butchko, Matt (Melissa) Butchko, Brady (Tricia) Wolfer, Kevin (Heidi) Wolfer, Nick (Suzy) Wilmers, Sarah (Bo Gerth) Wilmers, Zach (Brittney) Gregory and Samantha (Josh) Lay, and all their children. Donna always made sure they had books to read, games to play, bubbles to blow, lots of energy for long walks on the farm and lots of treats to find where she hid them. Her imagination knew no bounds as did her love for the youngest members of her family.

Donna also leaves behind her step-nieces Carol (Sean) Hayes and Karen (Scott) Bagent, many cousins and friends who were an amazing support team over the last several years, especially her dear friend of over 30 years, Joan Federika. Joanie’s compassion and love for Donna will long be remembered by her family. The family would also like to acknowledge the doctors, nurses and staff at Sienna Gardens and thank them for their patience and care of Donna these past 3-1/2 years.

Donna endured many surgeries and hospital stays in her lifetime to improve her physical impairments and mobility, including ground-breaking hip and knee replacements in the early 1970’s. Through all the trials in her life, she kept a positive attitude and worked alongside our mother on the family farm, canning and freezing vegetables, baking, and always being the best playmate to help occupy her younger siblings.

Donna was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2016 and following treatment she was in remission for over five years. Unfortunately, it returned in 2022 and treatments this time did not heal her body. So now her Earthly story is complete, and we believe she is fully healed, and her spirit is dancing among the stars.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the immediate family with interment next to her parents and brother in Vera Cruz Cemetery, Fayetteville, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be directed to Hospice of Cincinnati or to the Ruth Lyons Children’s Fund, who provided stuffed animals, games, toys, and laughter during Donna’s multiple stays in the hospital as a child.

Megie Funeral Home and Crematory, Milford, Ohio serving the family.
