Dorothy "Aunt Dot" Taylor

Dorothy Ann Taylor (nee Jones) born June 27, 1934, left her earthly body wracked with pain from cancer, on April 15, 2022, to receive her perfect new one at home in Heaven with her Lord and a host of family members and friends there to greet her. Dorothy (Aunt Dot to us) was one of eight children born to the late Ora and Edna (White) Jones--the ninth, a sister, was stillborn. She was preceded in death by her parents "Mam" and "Pop Jones" and her siblings: John (Mildred) Jones, Bertha "Sue" (Roy) Moler, Mary (Elton) Stevens, Jim (Leona) Jones, Grace (Harley) Allen-(Richard) Kuhlwein, Bernice (Jake) Connor and Charles (Iva Dean/Thelma) Jones. Aunt Dot was married right after her Mt Orab High School graduation to Elton "Tom" Hauck of Williamsburg, and just nine months later she buried her husband. He died suddenly from a heart defect he apparently had from birth. She was later introduced to Leo Douglas Taylor by her brother-in-law, who cleverly brought him along every time they took Dot anywhere!!! They had a wonderful marriage; she has shared so many great memories with all her family and friends. They couldn't have children so most of us nephews and nieces enjoyed being their surrogate family and being blessed by their special attention and generosity through the years... oh, and Doug's great sense of humor and Dot's 'I love Lucy' type of antics. But we do have to mention she had strong 'opinions' on everything we did--she knew exactly how every one of us should live our lives. There were only two ways to do ANYTHING!!! The wrong way and Dot's way!!! Those very things that once irritated us are now the memories we will laugh about and share every time we're together. And no doubt we will share similar opinions with our own families for years to come! However, the greatest legacy Aunt Dot leaves behind is the faith that she and Doug shared throughout their lives. There's no greater inheritance than that!!! If you would like to give a gift in her honor please send it to the Anderson Ferry Church of Christ 380 Greenwell Ave Cincinnati, Ohio 45238 and designate it to the Food Pantry. Helping others in need has always been her heart. The Anderson Ferry Church became dear to her for that reason and even more so when they adopted her as their "Aunt Dot" too because one of her family members ministers there!!! Funeral Service for Aunt Dot will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at 11:00 am at Megie Funeral Home located at 104 Spice Street, Mt. Orab, Ohio 45154. Family and friends will be received beginning at 9:30 am until the time of service. Burial will follow at Williamsburg Cemetery. Earl Stevens officiating.
