Dr. Stanley Brown

BROWN, Stanley, 82, of Terrace Park, passed away Sunday July 19, 2009. Beloved husband of the late Shirley (nee: Dunn) Brown, loving father of Jody Huneke (Jan) and Connie Doherty and grandfather of Brian Huneke (Leah Zoller), Lisa Huneke, and Colin, Kevin, Erin and Megan Doherty. Dr. Brown, retired local optometrist and WWII Navy veteran, enjoyed long and active involvement in the community. He loved to learn and to teach. Dr. Brown was a member of several local historical societies and nature conservation groups. His involvement with swimming ranged from coaching the 8 & Under group in Terrace Park to becoming a 3 time Olympic Swimming official. Dr. Brown loved tennis, skiing, collecting antique tools, and spending time with his grandchildren. Memorial services will begin 10:30AM Tuesday, July 28th at St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Terrace Park.
