BOOTHBY, E. Roger
Age 68 of Mt. Orab, OH died Wednesday, January 28, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at Clermont Mercy Hospital. After a courageous battle with Multiple Myeloma Cancer for 7 years. He was born September 22, 1940 in New Hope, OH.

After graduating from Mt. Orab High School, he was employed with Kiblers. Then employed with Fisher Body/General Motors Hamilton, OH Plant and Marion, IN Plant as a welder for 31½ years. He also attended Miami University, Hamilton Campus. He retired from Fisher Body/General Motors Marion, IN Plant July 1997.

On September 19, 1959, he married Betty Ann Miller at The Mt. Orab Church of Christ, Mt. Orab, OH. He was a member of the Mt. Orab Church of Christ, Mt. Orab, OH, Still Bank Collectors Club of America (SBCCA), and the Local UA W #233 Fairfield/Hamilton, OH. Roger collected cast iron banks and John A. Ruthven prints. He enjoyed hunting, the outdoors, playing cards, going to auctions, and being with his family & friends. Roger was a dedicated Brown County Fair Patron. The fair was his special gift for his birthday. He won several ribbons for his collectibles.
He is survived by his loving wife Betty Ann Boothby, three wonderful daughters Terri (Roy) Sutton of Cincinnati, OH, Rhonda (Brian) Howard of Palm Harbor, FL, and Sandy Lopez of Fairfield/Hamilton, OH; one special granddaughter Traci (Justin) Stouffer of Hamilton, OH; two brothers Carroll (Marcia) Boothby of Mt. Orab, OH, Allen (Donna) Boothby of Williamsburg, OH, one sister Mary Jo Hall of Mt. Orab, OH, three brother-in-laws Wayne Hile of Greenbush, OH, Robert Miller of Mt. Orab, OH, and James Miller of Williamsburg, OH; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eddie V. Boothby and Alice Boothby Thompson and mother and father-in-law Grace Miller Retzler and Henry Miller; one brother, Darrell Boothby; one sister Kathy Hile; one brother-in-law Don Hall; and his very best friends Wayne Smith and Danny Bolender.

This world will never be the same without ROGER BOOTHBY! His family & friends loved him
so much. He will be missed FOREVER!!

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 3, 2009 from 5-8 p.m. at The Mt. Orab Church of Christ, 400 Smith Avenue, Mt. Orab, OH. On Wednesday, February 4, 2009, visitation from 10:30 -11:00 a.m. at The Mt. Orab Church of Christ. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. The burial will follow at Mt. Orab Cemetery. Minister and nephew Joe Strunk will perform services. The gathering will follow burial at The Mt. Orab Church of Christ, Mt. Orab, OH.
