Ernestine 'Ernie' Schmidt

SCHMIDT, Ernestine �Ernie� Emma, was born on April 27, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan to Leo and Emma Fick. She was a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and charter member of Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in Anderson Township. Ernie was thoughtful, kind and very creative. She sang for over fifty years in five different Lutheran Church choirs. She was married in St. Paul�s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan on September 20, 1952 to Howard �Howie� Roy Schmidt. Ernie had six children, Gail Schmidt of Royal Oak, MI, Kathy (Mitch) Hirth of Kennesaw, GA, Nancy Dagle of North Olmsted, OH, Robert (Mary) Schmidt of Joliet, IL, Diane (Rob) Roeckner and Richard (Chris) Schmidt, both of Cincinnati, OH. Her five grandchildren are Bobby, Joe and Emmy Roeckner as well as Alex and Lori Schmidt. She was a beloved sister of Wilbur (Beverly), Milton and the late Harold and Alvin Fick. Ernie had been living in a nursing home for the past four years. She was loved by many and will be greatly missed. A memorial service will be 11:30, Saturday, October 13, 2012 at Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 1950 Nagel Rd, 45255.
