Flora Elizabeth Herron

Flora Elizabeth Herron, loving Mother and Grandmother, passed away Monday August 3rd, at the age of 98.

Flora was born March 5th, 1922 in Sardinia, OH to James Namen and Hannah Allen. She worked for RCA for quite some time, and when RCA closed, she retired from U.S. Playing Card in Cincinnati.

Flora married David Jett and had one son, Herman Jett. Flora later married Howard Herron and lived in Castleberry, Florida for many years. She was a very independent woman and lived on her own after being widowed in 1997. In 2005 she moved to Blanchester, OH to once again be closer to family.

Flora had such a passion for plants, gardening, traveling, family, and animals. One of her favorite pastimes was to sit on her porch visiting with family and watching her beloved birds. Flora traveled extensively all over the US, Mexico, Canada, Hawaii, England, Ireland, France, and Italy in her lifetime. When asked, her dream was always to visit Alaska, which she did with her daughter-in-law. Flora said it was the best trip she ever had. She recently stated, "You know, I can't hardly believe all the things I've done since I've been alive."

Flora was preceded in death by her mother, Hannah Allen, her father, James Namen Allen, her husband, David Jett, her 2nd husband, Howard Herron, her brothers, Johnny and David, her sister Pauleen Beason, her son Herman Jett, and her daughter-in-law Barbara Jett.
Flora is survived by her granddaughters Dyanne (John) Avery and Deborah (Jeff) Stanton, her great grandson Rocky Wagers, her great granddaughters Amber and Jessica Wagers, her great-great grandson Jett Wagers, and her great-great granddaughters Savanna and Alayna Wagers.

A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, August 8th, at 10:30 am at Greenlawn Cemetery in Milford, OH. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to capitolcityhospice.com.
