Georgeann Ottaway

Georgeann (née Craver) Ottaway, 80, passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. She was the devoted wife of the late Leroy C. Ottaway, whom she married on Oct. 12, 1963, the loving mom of Kelly (Gregg) Wehrung and Tracey (Jim) Sumner and her late son, Jeffrey Lee "Jeffie" Ottaway. She was the proud Mams of Tanner and Kylie Sumner, and Cailin, Haylee and Travis Wehrung, dear sister-in-law of Peggy Sue Craver and Debra Bitzer, caring aunt of Michelle (Scott) Singleton and great-aunt of Conner and Justin Singleton. Georgeann is also survived by closest family, the Sandfosses, as well as many other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin G. and Alice M. Craver, her brother, Stephen Craver, and brother-in-law Elmer Bitzer. Georgeann lived her entire life on her family farm in Stonelick Valley. She was a longtime member of the St. Philomena Catholic Church.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 13, 2023, from 10 AM-12 NOON, at Megie Funeral Home and Crematory-Craver Chapel, 529 Main St., Milford, OH 45150.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place following the visitation at 1 PM at the St. Philomena Catholic Church, 1860 Balzhiser Rd., Batavia, OH 45103, officiated by Father Timothy Scherer.

Committal will follow the Mass at St. Philomena Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions be directed to the St. Philomena Cemetery Fund, or to an animal rescue of one’s choice.
