Gregory "Greg" P. Jaent, beloved father, cherished grandfather, and dear friend, passed away on January 8, 2026, in Cincinnati (Anderson Twp.), Ohio. He was born on March 11, 1956, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Edmund John and Geneva Mary Jaent, who precede him in death.
Greg's love for nature, combined with his adventurous spirit, found him exploring and camping in the Upper Peninsula, where he cherished the beauty of the outdoors. He embraced every opportunity to immerse himself in the natural world, creating lasting memories.
He leaves behind a loving family, including his daughter, Crystal (née Mason) Doyle, and his granddaughters, Kimberly Salyers and Tara Salyers. He also leaves behind his son-in-law, Doug Doyle.
In addition to his immediate family, Greg is survived by his cousins: Mark Schmitt, Stanley Schmitt, Jennifer Schmitt Etapa, and numerous other cousins and family members, with whom he shared many warm memories. He also cherished the friendships he built over the years, including his childhood friends Phillip Lawson, Ron Claunch Jr., Martin Lamping, David Lahrman, Kenny Lahrman, and Michael Harrington. His neighbors, Paul Maurer, Neil Maurer, and Ashley Baker, will also miss his warm presence. Greg was also a loving companion to his fur baby cat, Hoppy,
Greg was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Laura S. (née Welker) Jaent. He is also remembered fondly alongside his beloved pets Pawpaw, Jingles, Pippers, Buddy, Bengal, Rug, Mouser, Rain and Patches, all of whom have crossed the rainbow bridge.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on January 17, 2026, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Megie Funeral Home & Crematory - Craver Chapel in Milford, Ohio. We will meet for a graveside service at Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati at 2:30 PM.
Greg's gentle spirit, adventurous soul, and love for his family will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His memory will continue to inspire those who carry his legacy forward.
