Harland Roger Johnson

JOHNSON, Harland R. �Roger�, passed away Monday April 9, 2012 at the age of 87. Beloved husband of the late Margaret Johnson. Loving father of Debra Lay, Caryn Good, Barry Johnson and Terry Johnson. Affectionate grandfather of five and great grandfather of three. Caring brother of Jean Shaw. Also survived by step children Richard Goshorn, Rebecca Kelm, Elizabeth Gierosky, Jennifer Ward and their families. Mr. Johnson was a WWII Navy veteran. He attended Marietta College for 1year and then graduated with teaching and fine arts degrees from Ohio State University. He also graduated from the Cincinnati Arts Academy with honors. He then went on to a career as an art teacher in the Cincinnati Public Schools for 23 years. Memorial services 2PM Thursday at Hyde Park Community UMC. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made to the Hyde Park Community UMC Music Program or the Cincinnati Arts Academy.
