Harold Herbert Grassman

Harold Herbert Grassman, age 91, of Eastgate in Union Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 22, 2026.

Born on January 15, 1935, in Rossmoyne, Sycamore Township, Ohio, he was the son of Ethel Catherine Bolser and John Henry Grassman. Harold graduated from Deer Park High School, where he met the love of his life, Carole Walker, to whom he was married for 72 years. He retired from Siemens after 47 years, where he worked as a manager of customer service.

He is survived by his wife, Carole Walker Grassman, whom he described as “the best darn girl I ever met”, his children Vicky (Wayne) Gudmundson, Jeanne (Richard) Brotherton, Christa (Henry) Davidson, Donna (John) Longsworth, 13 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his only son, Todd (Kathy) Grassman and siblings, Vera Taylor, John Grassman, Gladys Rabenstein, and Willard Grassman.

He loved to spend time in his workshop, restoring tractors, crafting custom furniture and making meaningful heirloom mementos. His family will remember his love and loyalty, his willingness to guide and help with any project, and his sense of humor. He enjoyed football, playing for the Deer Park HS Wildcats and coaching Pee Wee Football in Milford. He attended Christ United Presbyterian Church in Milford, Ohio for many years, where he served as a Deacon and choir member. He was a member of the Grand Lodge of F. & A.M. of Ohio.

His family will receive friends on Thursday, May 28th at 10:00 AM immediately followed by the memorial service at 11:00 AM at Megie Funeral Home, 529 Main Street, Milford, OH 45150.
