Howard Russell DeMar, 90, passed away September 8, 2016 after struggling with alzheimers for a number of years. Russ was a lifetime resident of Madeira, Ohio.. He and his wife of 68 years, Mary Lou, were one of the oldest living graduates of MHS, class of '43 and '45. Russ was a WWII veteran of the Army's 63rd infantry in Berlin, Germany. His love for his town was shown by his support of various civic positions, school activities and historical society. Russ attended Miami University in business and was in sales and marketing for 40 years with The Ford Motor Company, Hobart Bros. and Doran Manufacturing. His love of music has been evident his entire life from his barbershop quartet, Four Star Edition, to his church choirs and local productions. It was a large part of his joy for life. Russ is survived by his loving wife, Mary Lou, daughter Marcia Wykoff, son Douglas DeMar, 9 grandchildren, Tylor Rhoads, Ryan Rhoads , Whitney Rhoads, Steven DeMar, April Price, Nathan DeMar, Allison DeHoff, Ben DeMar and Emily MacDonald and 20 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held September 17, 2016 at Craver-Riggs Funeral Home 529 Main St. Milford, Ohio from 11 a.m. to noon, with service to follow.
