Jack Michael Brooks, 69, of Lebanon passed away Monday, October 20, 2020. There will be a celebration of Jack's life held at the event center at Warren County Fairgrounds on Friday, October 30 at 6:30pm.
Jack was born on November 21,1950, in Garden City, MI, to Lawrence Hall Brooks and Ida Leo Brooks. He moved to Mt. Healthy in 1961 and then to Lebanon in 1970. He met the love of his life, Vonda, on October 31,1983 and married her on October 6, 1987. He is survived by her and his two daughters, whom he took so much pride in: Tina Brooks-Roberts and her husband, Clarence Roberts III and their three children; April Brooks-Brown and her husband, Ronald and their two children, as well as three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Janice Shafer and Pat Brooks. He is survived by a sister, Pamela Brooks; a sister, Jeanine Adams; and a brother, Larry Brooks.
Jack graduated from Mt Healthy High School and attended and graduated from Cincinnati Barber College. He opened his own barber shop in Colony Square in 1970 and moved his business to N. Broadway in July of 1994, expanding his barber shop to include an upscale salon and spa. After two major renovations of the historic building, The One Hair Salon & Spa has become an exceedingly successful staple of the downtown Lebanon area. This year he celebrated the 50th anniversary of The One, his dream come true.
Jack had a mind for business, he served the hair industry and the city of Lebanon on various boards and teaching platforms throughout his career. His work ethic was like no other, if he wasn't inside the salon with clients, he was working on the lovely grounds he took such pride in. Jack enjoyed the outdoors, especially when he was golfing. Travel and dinners out with Vonda, family and friends was how he relaxed. Jack was a conversationalist, he seemed to know a little about anything and he truly just loved people. His joy, though, was his wife and his family and he was blessed with sixty nine years of tremendous health and happiness. He will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers, please honor Jack with a donation at LCNB to Brooksie's "Gift is in the Giving" Christmas Account. His generosity will carry on through a tradition near and dear to his heart, our yearly holiday fund to provide gifts for children in need.
