James Robert Meere, born May 28, 1929 in Lynn, MA, was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, May 18, 2016, in Cincinnati, OH. Following a term of enlistment in the Marines, dad met the love of his life, the late Shirley A. Meere (Reynolds), Jim and Shirley married, settled in Cincinnati, and raised our family. Dad was a devoted husband for fifty-two years, the adored and loving dad of Kimberly (Glen) Lambert, Karen Meere, Kristen Meere, Dave (Shon) Meere, and the late Matthew James Meere, extremely proud grandfather to Joshua (Mylinda) Vollet, Bryce Meere, Shayna Meere and Jorja Meere, doting great-grandfather to Kayleigh and Kinsley Vollet, loving and loyal brother to Elva Sewell (Meere), the late John Meere and the late Tom Meere, adoring brother-in-law to Nikki Meere, as well as a loving brother-in-law to Lois (Chuck) Fowler (Reynolds), uncle to Linda (Sean) Mullucey, Bonnie (George) Barnette, Steven (Irene) Fowler, Joan Murphy, Nancy Spiridis, Gayle Scanlon, the late Leslie Flynn, the late Paul Sewell and the late Mark Sewell and John Meere, Jr. Dads was a life well-lived, and his passions included all family activities, traveling, camping at the ocean, particularly Myrtle Beach, and raising and showing too many puppies to count. He loyally attended a multitude of band concerts, marching band shows, soccer, baseball, and lacrosse games. Dad loved playing bridge, and also traced our family history to Ireland, where he visited. Most importantly, dad was always there to provide for, support and love his family. He was, indeed, an incredibly special man, loved very much, and will be forever in our hearts. Hug Mom and Matthew for us all! A Celebration of Life for friends and family will be held at Craver-Riggs Funeral Home & Crematory, 529 Main Street, Milford, OH on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 11:00am, beginning with a gathering at 10:00am, also at Craver-Riggs Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, Jim would have very much appreciated memorials be made to either the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Foundation at 1241 Elm Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202, or the League for Animal Welfare, 4193 Taylor Road, Batavia, 45103, both of which Dad faithfully supported. Thank you.
