Jean G. Pope

Dr. Jean G. (nee' Grove) Pope passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on October 28, 2018. She was the cherished daughter of the late Fred and Gertrude Grove, loving mother of Michael (Kay) Pope, Nancy (Jackie) Pope, and Holly (Gene) Haynes, proud grandmother of Cynthia (Tony) Portelinha and Leslie (Jason) Willett, and great-grandmother of Ella, Laney, and Matthew Willett, Julianna & Tiago Portelinha, and dear sister of Frederic P. (Nancy) Grove. Dr. Pope received her degree in psychology and worked as Director of Counseling Services at Edgecliff College and in Batavia and Cincinnati Mental Health Centers. Her post graduate work was completed at Children's Hospital, and she served as Instructor of Psychology at Clermont College. She also worked at Christ Hospital for the Comprehensive Care Unit and maintained a private practice for twenty-five years. Dr. Pope obtained her pilot's license at the age of 17 and was a lieutenant in the CAPC. She pursued an engineering degree at Purdue University where she met her late husband, Jack H. Pope.
