Jim Murrell, age 76, of Mt. Orab, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, in Franklin, Ohio. Born on August 29, 1949, in Georgetown, Ohio, Jim lived a life rooted in faith, family, and unwavering love for those closest to him.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, James and Viola Murrell, and his siblings Carl Murrell, Yvonne, and Jackie.
He leaves behind his beautiful girl, Darlene Boothby, the love of his life, along with his beloved sons, Joe Murrell and Jamie Murrell. He is also survived by his siblings Mary, Mike, Dean, Frieda, and Bobbie, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
Jim was a devoted family man whose greatest joy came from the people he loved. He adored Darlene and was proud to let everyone know it. Whenever someone admired or flirted with him, Jim would simply smile, hold up his hand, and proudly flash his wedding band a small gesture that perfectly reflected the depth of his love and devotion. He also had a lifelong passion for classic cars and enjoyed sharing that interest with family and friends.
A faithful member of Mt. Orab Bible Baptist Church, Jim's faith was an important part of his life. Professionally, he was respected throughout his career and proudly served as Past President of the Independent Fee Appraisers of Cincinnati, earning the admiration of colleagues through his integrity, dedication, and character.
Jim will be remembered for his kind heart, steadfast faith, quiet strength, and the love he so freely gave to his family and friends. His legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jim's life during funeral services on Monday, August 3, 2026, at 1pm at Megie Funeral Home, 104 Spice street, Mt. Orab Ohio, with friends being received an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Mt. Orab cemetery.
