Joan Schmidt

Joan Schmidt of Sardinia, Ohio, passed away Sunday November 1, 2026, at the age of 89. Joan was born September 24, 1937, to the late Eugene and Audrey Crawford.

Joan is survived by her children: Bill (Melissa) Schmidt of Cold Spring, Kentucky, Brigette Rhoades of Tipp City, Ohio, and Nicole (David) Gould of Sardinia, Ohio; her grandchildren: Benjamin Schmidt, Grace Schmidt, Claire Schmidt, Sarah Rhoades, Kelly Rhoades, Emily Rhoades, Skylar Gould, Madison Gould and Hunter Gould.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, William Howard Schmidt, her son-in-law, Michael Rhoades, and her sibling, Donald Crawford.

Joan was a member of the Sardinia Hope Church, she loved to travel, and loved to spend time with her family.

Funeral service 12 PM Saturday, November 7, 2026, at Sardinia Hope Church, 105 S. Main Street, Sardinia, Ohio 45171, where family and friends will be received from 11 AM until the time of service. Burial will directly follow at Sardinia Cemetery.
