Joel David Schilling

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Joel David Schilling, beloved son, soulmate, father, and brother, who left this world on September 10, 2025, at the age of 47, in Anderson Township, Ohio. Born on October 7, 1977, in Los Angeles, California, Joel spent his life embracing every moment with joy and passion.

Joel was a man of many talents; he was an avid cook whose Kitchen was often filled with the rich aromas of his culinary creations. Whether he was whipping up delightful dishes for family gatherings or sharing special moments in the kitchen, Joel cherished the time spent with his loved ones. His soulmate, Carrie Taylor, often joined him in these joyful moments, as together they explored their shared love for thrifting at St. Vincent De Paul and various secondhand shops, discovering treasures and creating memories along the way.

Beyond the kitchen, Joel found freedom and solace riding his Harley, delighting in what he fondly referred to as "wind therapy." He fully embraced life, always eager to spend quality time with his children, Kenna (Trevin Skylar) Schilling, Mitchell Schilling, Max Schilling, Mason Schilling, Luke Messer, Elijah Messer, and Hudson Wolford, sharing his love and wisdom with them at every opportunity.

In addition to his children and Carrie, Joel is survived by his mother, Gloria Schilling, and sister, Stacy Schilling, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. He was predeceased by his father, Stanley Schilling.

Family, friends, and those whose lives he touched are invited to celebrate Joel's life during the visitation, which will take place on September 14, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM, followed by the funeral service commencing at 5:00 PM at Megie Funeral Home & Crematory – Craver, located at 529 Main Street, Milford, Ohio, 45150.

Joel David Schilling will be dearly missed, and his spirit will live on in the cherished memories held by his family and friends.
