John A. Anderson

John Arthur Anderson, Jr. was born March 5th 1928 in Evanston, Illinois and passed away on May 2nd. He spent much of his upbringing in his beloved North Woods of Wisconsin. He received his Bachelor�s degree from Princeton University in 1950 and was working towards his Doctorate from Harvard University when he was asked to teach at Hill School, Pottstown, Pennsylvania in 1954. His career spanned nearly 45 years, teaching Latin, Greek and the Humanities for which he held the Chair of the Humanities Department. He dedicated his life to this institution and to the education of its young men and women. He moved to Terrace Park, Ohio after retirement to be close to his family, whom he adored. He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy, and their four children and eight grandchildren. A funeral service will be held on Saturday May 14th at 10 AM at the St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Terrace Park. Memorial donations in John Anderson�s memory should be directed to support the Elizabeth B. Blossom Chair of Humanities at The Hill School in Pottstown, Pennsylvania.
