John Cordell Clark

John Cordell Clark passed away peacefully at the Madeira Health Care Center in Cincinnati, OH on March 12, 2010, after an extended illness, at age 69. Mr. Clark was a native of Lafayette, LA and graduated from Allen Military Academy in Bryan, TX and USL. He served in the United States Coast Guard, stationed on the Coast Guard cutter Owasco in Groton, CT. He was employed as an office manager/accountant for a medical group in Boca Raton, FL and also worked in Lafayette for an oil service company in the same capacity. Mr. Clark was a great story teller, with his dry wit and sense of humor, kept his family and friends captivated with his tales. He enjoyed traveling, frequently visiting his favorite place, the Grand Canyon. One of his hobbies was cooking, especially his specialty, fried catfish, which his family and friends still remember. He was preceded in death by his parents, Dallas and Laurence (nee Domingue) Clark, and brother James Clark of Lafayette. Survivors include daughter, Melissa Clark (Dr. Stephen) Benoit of Cincinnati; Melissa�s mother, Susan Smith; one brother, Deacon Michael (Gloria) Clark of Holy Cross Catholic Church and sister, Mary Dennis, all of Lafayette. A Memorial Mass to celebrate his life will be April 17, 2010, 10:00 AM, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Lafayette, LA. If desired, memorials in his memory may be directed to Crossroads Hospice, 4360 Glendale-Milford Rd, Cincinnati, OH 45242.
