John Fischley

Fischley, John, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend to many, died on October 22, 2011. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Jane Fischley. He is survived by his children, Susen(William)Arn of Georgetown, OH; Nancy (David)Parks of Cincinnati, OH; Pamela (Eliot) Hermanson of Chagrin Falls, OH; David Fischley of Chagrin Falls, OH; James (Michelle) Fischley of Mason, OH; and Barbara (Brad)Powell of Loveland, OH. He was a wonderful grandfather to Andrew Arn, Emily (Charles) Ernst, Jesse(Rhonda)Parks, Eric Parks, Michael Hermanson, Margaret Hermanson, Duncan Fischley, Grace Fischley, Katie Powell, Jonathon Powell, Steven Powell, and Alex Powell along with being the great-grandfather to 7. He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews, good friends from his bowling league as well as his American Legion friends at Post 484 in Mt. Washington. Mr. Fischley was raised in Lakewood, Ohio and graduated from the Case Institute of Technology as a chemical engineer. After retiring from LTV Steel (formerly Republic Steel) he and his wife moved to Amelia Ohio. While working in the steel industry Mr. Fischley contributed several patents. He is a past President of the Eastern Blast Furnaces and Coke Oven Association and the Former Chairman of the American Iron and Steel Institute Technical Committee. A gathering for Mr. Fischley will be on Wednesday, October 26, 2011 from 5-8 pm at the Craver-Riggs Funeral Home in Milford, OH and on October 29, 2011 from 2 � 5pm at Stroud-Lawrence Funeral Home in Chagrin Falls, OH. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the following: The American Cancer Society, Phi Delta Theta Educational Fund, or The American Legion Post 484 Mt. Washington.
