John J. Governor

John Governor passed away Sunday, August 2nd, 2015 at Bethesda North Hospital. John was a very compassionate and hard-working individual who, in spite of declining health, continued to work in his accounting and financial services businesses, up to the week before his passing. John was born in Boston Massachusetts but lived most of his life in the greater Cincinnati, Milford, and Fayetteville, Ohio area. John received his accounting degree from Bryant College, Rhode Island. John was a practiced and experienced accountant for over 46 years. He worked a number of various positions as chief accountant and controller for large corporations until he went into business for himself in 1982. He was an Enrolled Agent with the IRS, a member of the Clermont, Milford Miami, and Greater Cincinnati Chamber of Commerce, and Treasurer for the Milford First United Methodist Church. He was co-owner of Comprehensive Accounting & Tax Services, and owner of Plan your Future Inc. up until the day of his passing. John was passionate about life, his family, his vocation, and his faith. He was a devout follower of the Christian faith and could be found every morning in prayer and meditation. John was highly committed to his clients as well as helping and consulting with other small businesses in the greater Cincinnati area. He freely gave of his time and knowledge to those seeking accounting and business consulting advice John is survived by his wife Diane Governor, his sister, Lucille Acheson, his children Jill Governor, Brent Bernard, Michael Governor, Jimmy Governor, Tara Reinhart, and his grandchildren Tyler Verwold and Nolan Bernard. The family will receive friends at Craver-Riggs Funeral Home & Crematory at 529 Main Street, Milford, Ohio 45150 on Thursday, August 6th from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. There will be a funeral service at the Milford First United Methodist Church, 541 Main Street, Milford, Ohio, adjacent to the funeral home, on Friday, August 7th at 10:00 AM. John will be laid to rest at the Spring Grove Cemetery in Cincinnati, Ohio.
