John Edward Hopper Jr., 72, passed away Oct. 11 after a long illness. John was retired from a successful 30-year career in Cincinnati�s printing industry. In the 1960s-70s, he served as chief of the Union Township (Clermont County) Fire Department. He was an enthusiastic golfer, avid Cleveland Browns fan, and dedicated supporter of basset and beagle rescues. John was a lifelong Mason and proud member of J. B. Covert Lodge #437 F. & A. M. He was predeceased by parents John Earl Hopper and Charlotte (Parm) Hopper. He is survived by his devoted wife of 31 years Sherry (Morris) Hopper; sisters Darlene Pangburn and Sharron Schroeder (Florida) and Karron Steger (Georgia); son John Eric Hopper III, 4 grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews, loving family and supportive friends. Cremation has been held at Craver-Riggs Funeral Home, Milford. Memorial donations can be made to Hoxworth Blood Center, the Cincinnati SPCA, or the League for Animal Welfare (Batavia).
