Joyce Lee Wells of Batavia, Ohio, passed away on August 21, 2026, in Amelia, Ohio.
Born on July 11, 1940, to the late William and Pauline King, Joyce was truly one of a kind. Known as Momma J to some and Mema to others, her greatest pride and joy was her family. She loved family gatherings, making memories, and having the people she loved close by. She had a heart full of love, a personality all her own, and a way of making people feel at home. If you knew her, you loved her.
Joyce will be deeply missed by her children: Tracy (Bob) Gordon, Terry Wells, Kortney (John) Miller, William Samuel "Chip" (Angela Warren) Wells, and Scott (Traci) Wells.
She leaves behind her grandchildren: Kory, Drew, Tyler, Megan, Hayley, Jen Eden, Bailey, Miranda, Sophie, Brittanee, Branden, Caitlin, and Nico; and her great-grandchildren: Piper, Ramzie, Kannon, Zane, Violet, Asher Taylor, and Asher Rose.
She is also survived by her siblings, Bruce David King and Paula Shelley King, and her beloved fur-babies, Harper and Tink.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, William J. King and Larry Allen King.
Joyce leaves behind a lifetime of memories and a family who loved her dearly. She will be remembered for her love of family, her one-of-a-kind spirit, and the many moments that made her who she was. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A private celebration of life will be held when the entire family is able to be together in the near future
