Kathryn "Kate" Kraft

Kathryn "Kate" Kraft, born on December 14, 1959, in Akron, Ohio, passed away peacefully on November 14, 2025, in Fayetteville, Ohio. She leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and strength that touched all who were fortunate to know her.

Kate was married to her beloved husband, Richard D. Kraft, for 40 wonderful years. Together, they shared a deep bond that exemplified love and partnership. She was a devoted mother to Richard David (Sarah) Kraft II of Cincinnati, Ohio, and David Joseph Kraft of Fayetteville, Ohio. Her family was the center of her world, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Kate was a proud grandmother to Kennedy Kraft and Carter Kraft, who brought her immeasurable joy and happiness.

She was also a beloved sister, surviving by Dee (Bob) Sculthrope of Maineville, Brett (Roger) Smith of Akron, Sue (Jim) Romani of Mason, Patty Clark of Mason, Dave Gruver of Akron, Paul (Jenny) Gruver of Akron, Dan (Deb) Gruver of Indiana, Tom (Dee) Gruver of Mason, and Mike (Jen) Gruver of Noblesville, Indiana. Kate’s life will be remembered as one woven with deep family ties and countless friendships. She is further survived by numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and dear friends who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.

Kate was preceded in death by her parents, Francis and Elizabeth Gruver, and her brother, Jim Gruver. Their warmth and influence shaped her into the remarkable woman she was and left an indelible imprint on her loved ones.

Her family has planned a visitation to honor her memory on November 20, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Megie Funeral Home & Crematory - Craver Chapel, located at 529 Main Street, Milford, Ohio. This will be followed by a funeral service at the same location at 12:00 PM .
