Lois Jean Fowler, a woman whose life was a testament to grace, kindness, and unwavering love, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2026, in Terrace Park, Ohio. Born on February 19, 1937, in Madisonville, Ohio, Lois lived a profoundly loving life, marked by her sweet and gentle presence that quietly yet deeply touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Lois was a remarkably prayerful soul, whose faith and love for her Lord Jesus shone through in her selflessness and generosity. She was in a neighborhood prayer group for several decades and truly believed in the power of prayer. She was a true people person, accepting people as they were, and loving them unconditionally. Those who had the privilege of being in her company cherished her gentle strength, sharp mind, and the way she listened—genuinely listened—with patience and love. Her quiet grace was a comforting presence.
Lois was married to her husband, Chuck, for 57 years, and was his devoted caregiver during the last 8 years of his life. Her love extended effortlessly to her children and grandchildren, for whom she was not only a loving mother and grandmother but a treasured role model. She delighted in taking her children and grandchildren on an annual swim day at Coney Island, wanting to make lasting memories with them.
Lois had a deep love for simple joys—attending church, a good book, peaceful walks, gazing at the sky, watching Reds and Bengals games, and baking. Her pies and cookies were legendary, often requested at family functions. These small pleasures and the adventures she shared with her grandchildren created beautiful memories that will live on in the hearts of her family forever.
She leaves behind a loving family who were the very center of her life. Her children—Michael Fowler, Linda (Sean) Mullucey, Bonnie (George) Barnette, and Stephen (Irene) Fowler, her grandchildren—Jennifer Fowler, Mary Yeary (Adam), Danielle Robinson (Brian Huffman), Elijah Mullucey, Arlo (Zoey) Barnette, Ellen Barnette, and Maria Fowler, her great-grandchildren—Faith, Madison, Gatlynn, Kai, Aiden, Alexander, Kingston, Ashton, and Zahra, nieces-- Karen Meere and Kristen Meere, and nephew David (Shon) Meere. She also leaves behind a group of lifelong friends, church friends and kind and loving neighbors.
Lois is preceded in death by her parents, Theodore and Mildred Reynolds, beloved husband Charles Fowler, daughter-in-law Nancy Fowler, grandchildren Michael Lee Fowler and Jonathan Fowler, sister Shirley Meere, niece Kim Lambert, and nephew Matthew Meere.
Her passing leaves an immense void, yet her life remains an example of what it means to live with grace, compassion, and quiet strength. Lois' legacy is woven through her family and friends, a testament to a life well-lived and a love that will never fade. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and lovingly remembered.
A gathering for family and friends will take place from 10:00- 12:00 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at Eastside Christian Church, 5874 Montclair Blvd. Milford, Ohio with a reception to follow.
