“Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well-preserved body, but rather to skid broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming ‘Wow! What a Ride’”

Lois took that quote to heart.

Lois Robertson, beloved mother to two daughters: Linda Tyree (Frank) of Chesterland, Ohio and Bonnie Heinmiller (Jeff Joffin) of Milford, Ohio, passed away on January 28, 2026 leaving a void her family cannot fill. She leaves behind 4 grandchildren: Kaitlin Neace (Taylor) of Powell, Ohio, Allison Tyree (Patrick Ellefson) of Wauwatosa, Wisconsin; Hannah Heinmiller of Milford, Ohio and Tyrone Heinmiller of Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Lois was also blessed with 4 great-grandchildren, King James, Camden, Peyton, and Bennett. She is survived by a beloved sister, Mary Lou Webb, niece and honorary daughter, Kathy Baird, and her numerous friends and family, all who will never forget the love she brought to their lives.

Lois was preceded in death by Charles Robertson, beloved husband, Barbara Van Sickle, sister, and Durward and Violet Hastings, parents.

Lois was born in Detroit, Michigan in 1937 to Dur and Vi Hastings into a family that was all about the automobile and Michigan lake lifestyle with a Chrysler dealership and a cottage on Lake Huron. Lois attended Michigan State University receiving a degree in Education. She was forever a spartan and Alpha Xi Delta sorority member as well as a member of Eastern Star. Lois taught high school Spanish and Social Studies and then switched to being a florist at Hermann’s and Expressions by Elizabeth in Milford until she retired. Lois and her husband, Chuck, moved to several states during their 44-year marriage, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio, until finally staying in Milford for the last 55 years. Lois was happily on board for all kinds of fun and adventure, 30 years in many card clubs, Model A Restorers Club, field trips, camping, travel, summers in Harrisville, Michigan, and several winters in Glendale, Arizona.

Lois loved a good martini, football games on TV, any murder mystery book or show, a moped scooter ride, a purring cat on the lap, and watching beautiful Lake Huron from a porch. Summers were spent cheering for her Cincinnati Reds baseball and fall was for Bengals football and any college team, especially Michigan State.

The family is planning a celebration of life on Lois’ 89th birthday in March.
