Lorraine Hawkins

HAWKINS, Lorraine, devoted wife of Jack D. Hawkins for 58 years. Dear sister-in-law to Robert D. Hawkins (Fran), James M. Hawkins (Harriet), LouAnn Novotny (Jerry) and Janet Jones (Dave). Dear aunt of 10 nieces and nephews and 12 great nieces and nephews. A fifty year resident of Los Altos Hills, California, Lorraine passed away Friday November 10, 2006 in Milford, OH at the age of 87. Lorraine was born in Kimball, SD on November 7, 1919 and grew up in Paullina, Iowa. She received a Bachelor of Science in Commerce Degree from the University of Iowa and also a Doctor of Jurisprudence degree from Duke University where she met her husband, a fellow law student. Before her marriage she worked for the FBI and the law firm of Goodrich & Dalton in Mexico City, Mexico. She was an active member of the Union Presbyterian Church in Los Altos and Chapter NW of the PEO Sisterhood, also in Los Altos. Lorraine was legend among friends and family for her happy disposition and also for her culinary skills. She loved to entertain in her home and at Christmastime she prepared cookies, candies and cakes for many friends and shut-ins. A Memorial service will be held at SEM Haven Chapel, 225 Cleveland Avenue Milford, OH on November 25, 2007 at 2PM. Burial will be in Canfield, OH.
