Margaret Virginia (nee' Helfrich) Miller, age 96, passed away with her family by her side on Saturday, September 12, 2020. She was the beloved wife of the late Richard E. Miller. She considered her family to be her most important "accomplishment." She was the cherished mother of Julie (Chris) Coffing, Richard E. (Marsha) Miller Jr., Marcie (the late Dave) Woeste, David B. (Lois) Miller, and M. Scott (Lynn) Miller; proud grandma of Christopher (Erin) Coffing, Brian Coffing, Jessica (Brock) Leach, Richard E. Miller III, the late David R. (Beth) Woeste, Michael Woeste, Jeremy (Skas) Woeste, Jennifer (Dan) Crumbaker, Jay Miller, Megan (Kyle) Roach, Ryan Miller, Carly (Matt) Athey, Lindsay (Zeke) Isaacs; and also very proud GG to William and Ann Marie Coffing, Lily Margaret and Clara Leach, Lily, David III, Anna, Jonathan, Russell, Isaac, Violet, Isabel, Elena, and Jacob Woeste, Sarah and John Crumbaker, Wyatt and Olivia Roach, Beau and Hudson Athey, and Vail and Zeke Isaacs. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Bessie Helfrich, and a brother, Elton C. Helfrich. After graduating from high school as valedictorian, Margaret attended nursing school during World War II and became part of the U S Cadet Nurse Corps. She attained the top score on the state board examination for RN licensing. Margaret secretly married her sweetheart before he went off to war, and then had a formal wedding 8 months later. They started their family after the war ended. She worked nights, part time, as an RN for many years. Margaret was competitive and loved to play games, especially with her grandchildren. She enjoyed gardening, collectibles, and always had fresh-baked cookies for visitors. She was a member of the Milford Historical Society and The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. A Memorial Service will take place on October 10, 2020 at 11 AM at The Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 101 S. Lebanon Rd., Loveland, OH 45140, where family and friends will be received from 10 AM until the hour of service. A Committal Service will follow at 5 PM at Greenlawn Cemetery in Crestline, OH.
