Mary Lou Demar

Mary Lou DeMar, 90, passed away March 28th, 2018. Mary Lou & her late husband Russ, of 68 years, were lifetime residents of Madeira, Ohio. They were one of the oldest living graduates of Madeira High School, class of 45 and 43, until the passing of Russ in 2016.
Mary Lou had a lifelong art career, majoring in art at Miami University, worked at Gibson Art, and had been a member of the Cincinnati Women's Art Club. She was instrumental in starting Madeira's Spring art show and exhibited in shows across the city. She held art classes most of her adult life in various places and in her home, holding her last class a mere 9 months ago. She had been residing in Salem, Ohio, where she attended the Salem Bible Church. Much of Mary Lou's artwork can be seen in various places around our city and include many historical landmarks in and around Madeira. Mary Lou's passion for color, her gardens, and her appreciation and ability to see all the beauty in our world are showcased in her works. Those of you that are fortunate enough to have one of her art pieces know that her legacy will live on through the gift that she loved.
Mary Lou is survived by her daughter, Marcia Wykoff, (John), son, Douglas DeMar (Valerie), 9 grandchildren, Tylor Rhoads, Ryan Rhoads (Katie), Whitney Rhoads, Steven DeMar (Dorean), April Price (Andy), Nathan DeMar, Allison DeHoff, (Dan), Ben DeMar (Heather), Emily MacDonald (Ray), and 21 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Craver-Riggs Funeral Home, 529 Main Street Milford, Ohio on April 28th from 10:30 a.m. to noon, with service to follow. There will be a continuation of the celebration of life at Kenwood Country Club from 1-3. Memorial Donations can be made to Madeira High School's Music Dept., 7465 Loannes Drive, Cincinnati, Ohio 45243 in Mary Lou and Russ DeMar's names.
