Mary Grace Heitmeyer

Mary Grace (Mattern) Heitmeyer, age 89, of Loveland, Ohio, died peacefully March 27, 2014 at home. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, David G. Heitmeyer, her father John Mattern, her mother Nina Mattern, brothers, Bill, Jack, Ken, Donald and Dean Mattern and sister, Janet Blanchard. She is survived by her son David L. (Larry) Heitmeyer (Marcy), granddaughters Melissa (Keith) Riggs and Marla (Dale) Conrad and four great grandchildren; Kyrstin Riggs, Samantha Conrad, Alexandra Conrad and Michael Conrad. Mary graduated from Dover High School in Westlake, Ohio in 1942. She volunteered at The Hanna Theater, Bay View Hospital, and Westlake YM/YWCA. She was a great cook and loved all kinds of gardening. She could and did make anything grow. She had previously lived in Scott Depot, WV, San Jacinto, CA and Westlake, OH. Most of all Nana loved being a wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Memorial Services will be private. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that a contribution be made in her name to the Crossroads Hospice, 4360 Glendale-Milford Rd. Cincinnati, OH 45242.
