Merle Lydia Herbert

Merle Lydia (nee Hauldren) Herbert, age 91, passed away peacefully on October 11, 2015. She was the devoted wife of the late Howard May and the late Robert Herbert, beloved mother of Rodney (Carol) May, Joretta (Eddie) Massie, Ken (Nancy) May and the late Linda Applegate, proud grandmother of 9, great grandmother of 18 and great great grandmother of 20. She will also be missed by sisters Emma May, Louise Brumley, Lucille Joinke, Louise (Jim) Stitt, Elaine Ballard and brothers John and Mac Hauldren. Merle was a beloved school bus driver for CNE, and competed with her fellow drivers in the state regional school bus rodeo, placing 1st in the team event and 7th in the individual competition. She was an avid quilter, seamstress and loved gardening and crocheting. Visitation will be Saturday, 9:30 am until time of service, 11:00 am, all at Craver-Riggs Funeral Home and Crematory, Milford. Burial will take place at Stonelick Township Cemetery following the funeral.
