Mildred C. Lengle

Mildred Catherine Lengle (nee Smith), age 94, passed away on February 2, 2013 at Cincinnati, Ohio. Relocation from Cleveland, Ohio (1986) with husband, Arthur, allowed nearness to son, Dennis (Maryellen), grandchildren, Scott (Brooke), Kristen, Lauren and recent great grandchild, Ella Marie Lengle (12 months). Predeceased by Arthur (2007), Helen and Arline (sisters), she is survived by Robert E. Smith (brother), nieces and nephews. Moving to Cleveland�s �Old Brooklyn� from then rural, Middleburg Heights, Ohio, Mildred graduated from James Ford Rhodes High School (1937). She contributed to �the war effort� producing batteries at the National Carbon Company. Her meeting Art Lengle at Sachsenheim Hall led to marriage, the quick, army furlough style (1944). A wonderful homemaker, Mildred was an �old fashion mom.� Always helpful, she was depicted in the Cleveland Press (1954) as an �Alias Santa Claus,� selected by grateful neighbors. Mildred was �Employee of the Year� at Deaconess Hospital, a nursing aide with compassion. She followed �the tribe,� and the Cleveland Browns. Cincinnati residency allowed enjoyment of area state parks. A �tent camper,� Mildred�s outdoor cooking really made a Coleman stove talk. A Christian, Mildred lived The Golden Rule.
