Nels Schnecker of Oregonia, Ohio left this Earth on his 71st birthday, April 15, 2026.
He was a caring man that not only cared for his family, but for friends, neighbors, employees, and animals. He would be the first to help anyone who needed it, no matter the job.
He loved working on the farm and driving dump trucks. There was a time when he took a factory job out of high school. When it became Spring, two weeks later, he told his boss “I have to go, it’s time to plant.” After that he never looked back and became his own boss.
He was a great teacher when it came to working on equipment, farming, and bailing hay. If you ask anyone that drove truck or baled hay with him, they would have a story to share and use the skills they learned.
He was a 1973 graduate from Little Miami High School.
He was proceeded in death by this parents, Earl and Esther (nee Myers) Schnecker, as well as many aunts and uncles.
He is survived by his two brothers, Neil (Judy) Schnecker and Carl (Connie) Schnecker, as well as his sister, Cyndy (Larry) Schmale. He is also survived by his children: Ginger (Jeff) Streitmatter, Brian (Casey) Phillips, Matt (Randi) Phillips and Jennifer Brogan. He is survived by three nephews: David (Krista) Schnecker, Jake (Sarah) Schnecker, Chris (Amber) Schnecker, and one niece, Laura Schnecker. He has nine grandchildren: Mark and Luke Streitmatter, Gracyn and Hayden Phillips, Seth (Haley) Gilbert, Estley and Loretta Phillips, Abigail and Kyle Ennis and four great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 5 PM on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Olive Branch Church, 7315 Wilmington Rd., Oregonia, Ohio 45054. Family and friends will be received from 3 PM until the time of service.
